My place is three little houses, all in all seven private
rooms. There is a patio area with a view of the Pacific Ocean and
of the Monteverde Mountains, a garden and you can use a kitchen.
It is built with the environment in mind.
Tina's Casitas is located on a quiet side road just a five minutes
walk from
the center of Santa Elena. Next door there is a place to eat and a
shop, laundry service and a public phone. Almost all
transportations of tours pick you up right here. My guests receive
lots of information and can book all tours through me.
My rates are:
shared bath: $10 sgl./$12-$14 dbl.
private bath (half a house): $20 sgl./ $25 dbl./ $30trpl.

Coffee Tours:
Tour 1
2 hours coffee tour with a cup of coffee and bilingual guide,
Rate: $15 p.p.
Tour 2
2 hours coffee tour with a cup of coffee and a special
costarican meal, prepared on a wood burning stove by a nice farm
woman. Incl. transport from and to the hotel, rate: $25 p.p.
Both tours can be done by horse as well. The guide shows his
guests a sugar mill, where you can try fresh pressed juice and you
continue through forest and meadows until you reach an animal home
where a friend takes care of hurt Tucans,
wild pigs, snakes and so on. The attraction are 2 monkey pets
coming to play. After 2,5
hours you get to the coffee tour. By horse, rates are $25 higher.

Tour by Jeep, Boat, Jeep
from Santa Elena with the Jeep to Lake Arenal, a 50 minute boat
trip to the damm, than again by Jeep around the volcano, passing
new lava flows til you get to La Fortuna. Rate: $21 p.p.

Skywalk / Walkways
The Skywalk is mentioned in all travel guides. Far better and
also cheaper are the new Walkways, not yet mentioned in the travel
guides. The trail is longer, about 2 to 3 hours, does not have
steep part, there are 2 bridges more and the rates are including
transport from the Hotel. Adults $15 / Students $12 /
Children 7 years and older pay $10

Canopy Tours (I can recommend 2 out of 4):
1) Monteverde Canopy Tour
16 fast zip lines up to 2300 ft length, duration 1,5 hours,
transport from/to the included, Rate: $35 for adults / $28 for
students
There is a discount if booked with the Walkways:
Canopy Tour + Walkways = $45 for adults / $36 for students
2) Canopy Adventures
16 zip lines + 1 tarzan swing + 1 climbing rope, transport from/to
the Hotel

Horse Tours:
Santa Elena und Umgebung
2,5 hours horse riding through forest, meadows and coffee
plantations with a guide passing a sugar mill where you can try
freshly pressed juice. You can see Monkeys and Tucans. Perfect
even for beginners and children. Horses are very good taken care
of!
Rate: $25 per person.
Tour to waterfall San Luis
1,5 hours guided horse ride into the valley of San
Luis with excellent views to the Pacific Ocean and the
Monteverde Reserve. The last 30 minutes are by foot crossing
several rivers until you reach the waterfall, where you stay for
one hour. You will get fruits and a drink. Duration about 6 hour.
Rate: $45 plus entrance into the reserve $7 / $5

Taxi-Horse-Boat-Taxi from Monteverde to La
Fortuna
30 minutes by taxi to the beautiful view point "Mirador"
of Volcano Arenal. From there you continue for 3,5 hours by horse
to Lake Arenal through untouched nature with awesome views to the
volcano and the lake. After a break with fruits and water you
continue by boat and reach the damm after 20 minutes.
At the end, a 15 minute taxi ride passing the new lava flow will
bring you to your Hotel in La Fortuna. Rate: $65, 2 people minimum.
