Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge,
tucked away in the trees and cooled by the Pacific Ocean, is a 170acre private reserve
bordering Corcovado National Park. Carefully designed and built by an American naturalist
with over twenty-five years of local experience, this unique lodge offers accommodations
constructed with the highest concern for conservation in harmony with the landscape and
the environment. Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge provides the ideal base for your in-depth
rainforest experience.
There are no roads to
Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge, access is only by motor launch. The adventure begins two
hours before your arrival as the launch leaves from our reception center ¨La Hacienda¨
in Sierpe. You travel down the river and then follow the Pacific coast until you arrive at
the lodge.
Casa Corcovado Jungle lodge is
a remote tropical rainforest retreat with no telephones and no faxes, we have available a
cellular phone and a radio directly in the hotel. Fax machine and phone are available in
La Hacienda in Sierpe.

¨Lost World¨ are artfully-appointed individual bungalows offering unpretentious comfort,
mosquito-netted beds, ceiling fans, tiled floors, ample storage including closet, lounge
area, dry mini bar, safety deposit box, and hammock. Roomy private bathrooms have hot
water showers and designer fixtures. As you stroll down the sidewalk, your eye can’t
help but be drawn to the beautiful stained glass in the door and wooden shutters in the
windows handmade by Costa Rican artisans.

for different activities or to read a good book in the informal lounge area.

surrounded by virgin Rainforest and fruit trees, which draws birds, monkeys and other
animals, it’s perfect for bird watching. Non-alcoholic fruit drinks and canned
beverages are always available.

You will find a bag and a list of items in your room, it is available daily just have
everything ready when the chambermaid cleans your room

have Swarovski binoculars for rent, T-shirts, sunscreen, hats, sandals, film, insect
repellent, bird & animal identification charts, personal hygiene articles and many
other items. The manager is at your disposition if you have any questions or needs he can

Enjoy beach combing on our half-kilometer-long pristine beach then refresh yourself under
a waterfall or bathe in a shaded pool. Feel free to ask for a ride down to the beach and
to arrange for a pick-up time with our ¨Jungle Taxi¨ or call using the radio, which is
at the boathouse.
Mini Bar
Due to the fact that we produce our own energy so as not to burn fossil fuels your¨ Dry
Mini Bar¨ is not refrigerated. A price list to record your consumption is found in each
Bungalow.

HIKING IN
CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK
Guided by a naturalist through the trails of the park, you will enjoy an incredible
waterfall and picnic on one of the beautiful beaches of the National Park.
NIGHT TOUR
One can truly feel the power and life of the rainforest after dark. Following dinner our
tour leaves for roughly a 45-minute walk through the Jungle until reaching a beautiful
clearing. You have arrived at ¨Claro del Bosque ¨ where you will join our neighbors the
Jimenez family for Costa Rican snacks in their thatched ¨Rancho¨. Fresh brewed coffee,
¨Agua dulce¨ and homemade tortillas prepared over an open fire will refresh you before
the return to Casa Corcovado.
EARLY BIRD TOUR
Share
the cool early morning air with some of the over 350 species of birds found in Corcovado.
The early morning hours are perfect to observe the wildlife of the area. For keen birders
and animal lovers, on this tour we offer the chance to see numerous species of birds,
morph butterflies, monkeys and other animals.
HORSEBACK RIDING
A
horseback riding tour through the rainforest to a majestic waterfall, combined with a
typical Costa Rican meal at a remote thatched ¨Rancho¨ will leave you weary but aglow
with vivid images of a day unlike any other.
A
half-day tour is also available to a white sand beach where scarlet macaws are commonly
seen.
SAN JOSECITO
TOUR
Go to a
wonderful swimming beach with a coral reef perfect for snorkeling.
Picnic on the beach and then walk through the forest to a fresh water river for a
refreshing swim.
CAÑO ISLAND
TOUR
Offshore lies Caño Island, an ancient Indian burial ground. Picnic on a white sand beach
sheltered by coconut palms and snorkel among the coral reefs that surround this tropical
paradise. There will be time for a hike up to the burial grounds in the interior of the
island.
MANGROVE TOUR
A
guided tour through the Sierpe River its’ canals and the amazing mangroves searching
for monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, anteaters and different varieties of birds.
SEA KAYAKING
There are two options available, a short tour around Campanario, ¨ Bell Tower Rock¨, or
a full day excursion from Casa Corcovado to San Josecito beach with a the picnic lunch. An
excellent journey to keep you in good shape.
SCUBA DIVING
Diving on the southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica can be simply described as spectacular.
Costa Rica Adventure Divers explores several sites around Caño Island. Protected as a
biological reserve by the Costa Rican Government, the water surrounding the island is
extremely pristine and teeming with life.
SPORTFISHING
TOUR
We
specialize in inshore fishing for roosterfish and in the teaming waters of Caño Island
where grouper and giant cubera snapper can be found. Yellow-fin tuna, Wahoo, Dorado,
and Spanish mackerel are also commonly caught. Equipped with Pen International reels
and customs rods our covered 21-foot twin outboard boats can offer a fantastic half-day or
full day of fishing action. Casa Corcovado can also provide a 26-foot twin 150-hp boat for
the who wish to try their luck further offshore.

These
tours are geared towards the serious minded naturalist, hiker photographer, birder and
adventurer. Due to the remote location, tours involve surf launches and landings. We
recommend these tours for those in good physical condition.
Restrictions:
Please
limit your luggage to 25 pounds (12kg) per person. Luggage storage service is available at
most hotels. Casa Corcovado is not responsible for the excess of your luggage. We reserve
the right to change or omit potions of any itinerary if warranted by inclement weather or
sea conditions.
