Guided Bird and nature walks Imagine the mocking cry of the laughing falcon, the metallic "bonk" of a 3 wattled Bell Bird, the bright scarlet cap of a long tailed manakin. Now place these sights and sounds among the strangler vines, blue butterflys, leaf cutting ants, orchids and 20 ft. tall philodendrons and you have an idea of what you can encounter on your nature walk. The guided bird and nature walks offer an easy introduction to the natural ecology of the Tropical Dryforest and Pacific Lowlands. While strolling over the farm, through jungle and river, you have the opportunity to explore the complexities of this unique tropical ecosystem. You will see some of the over 100 bird species so far identified at Finca Los Caballos. Nature Walks are guided by a longtime area resident and associate of our Lodge. A birding enthusiast and self taught naturalist, Dana shares her passion for the natural history of one of Costa Rica's most fascinating ecosystems. Guided Walks leave the Lodge at 8 am and 2 pm, Sun-Fri. $20 per person (2+ hour walk) Private guiding in Montezuma area available upon request.
