Lomas del Volcán is a small and cozy hotel situated on a
mountainside within the property of a 150 hectare farm. The hotel sits at
the foot of the majestic Arenal Volcano, just 4 km from La Fortuna.
We offer thirteen
spacious, rustic bungalows, finely finished. Each bungalow includes two
terraces, from which you may enjoy one of the most spectacular views of
the Arenal Volcano. Also, you will enjoy the great variety of plants and
animals surrounding you in the tropical forest. Given the geographic location of Hotel Lomas del Volcán, we offer a
great variety of activities and attractions which will give you the
privilege of experiencing the amazing tropical plants and animals of our

This unforgettable
adventure offers the perfect combination of beautiful sightseeing and
physical activity. We begin with a scenic horseback riding from the hotel
to the entrance of the Fortuna River Waterfall, through beautiful trails
where the panoramic views surround the area. After viewing the
magnificent 40-meter waterfall from the distance, you descend on a
challenging hike through the dense rainforest where you will see amazing
specimens of flora. The hike will bring you to the base of a crystal blue
pool, the waterfall pours into where you will be able to take a wonderful
refreshing swim, there you will find huge rocks where you can sit and
relax before hiking back up.

Our hike through the rainforest is a great option
for those who want to experience an exciting adventure. During the hike,
it is possible to see many kinds of plants, birds and other animal species
that call the rainforest home. This hike offers excellent opportunities
for bird watching.

How to get to Hotel
Lomas del Volcán
From San
José.
Less Trafic Route
Take the road that goes to
Puntarenas and make a right in San Ramón, go through the town from
east to west until the hospital, there will be a sign of Villa Blanca and
Bajo Rodríguez. Keep going on that road passing by La Tigra, Chachagua to
La Fortuna, then, turn to the left from east to west on the direction to
the Arenal Volcano, keep driving for 2 km and then you will find our
entrance at the left side of the road, then, drive 1.5 km into our farm.

More Trafic Route
In the same way from San José to Puntarenas make a right turn in Naranjo
and find the sign to Zarcero and Ciudad Quesada. Just keep going
straight through this towns looking for the small communities of
Florencia, Santa Clara (make a right turn), Jabillos, La Vega, El Tanque
to La Fortuna and pass it up 2 more km to reach the entrance to our hotel.

From Liberia
To reach our hotel coming from Liberia you must be take the way to Cañas
on the Panamerican High Way for approximately 1.30 hours. Make a left turn
on the way to Tilarán and go around the Lake Arenal passing by Nuevo
Arenal. After to get to the Dam keep on the road for 12 km to find the
entrance to our hotel at the right side.
