Stay busy and
happy
Costa Rica is more than a paradise for nature lovers. It is
also famous for it´s culture.
There are more than thirty museums - starting with the museum of art until the gold
museum.
There are art galeries in many places in San José.
Costa Rica's theater-tradition kept well in the capital and it´s theaters get used by
many people. There are several concerts held by the National Symphony Orchestra and the
Costarican Youth Symphony. In many cinemas you can watch English movies with Spanish
subtitles for only some dollar.
San José also offers an active nightlife with operas as
well as strip bars. There are many bars with western music and video shows. We can
recommend a place called "Pueblo". A labyrinth of small bars, art shops,
restaurants and discotheques for everyone´s taste. Even some bigger halls with live music
are included. If you like to gamble, you will find more than 20 casinos. Most of them
offer free drinks and are open from 6 pm to 3 or 4 am.
In Costa Rica, you will never be bored. The only problem
will be to find a moment to relax! You can choose between hiking, football, races,
paragliding, bridge, libraries, cinemas, clubs, museums, parks, windsurfing, bowling, tennis,
pottery, camping, bird watching, dancing, bike riding, sun bathing, horse riding, art
galeries and much more.
The small country offers much to do.
You can join a dancing course at Academia de danzas
regionales (Academy for regional dances) - San Jose, c 3 y 5, a 10 - phone 222-5484. You
can meditate, do yoga or join one of the countless clubs, play golf, swim, play football
or basketball and exercise. Possibilities to horse ride are offered everywhere in the
country, for example at the Cariari Country Club.
If you look through Tico Times or La Nacion, you will
find ads of many interesting clubs to join like for example the Bridge Club, the Investment
Club, the Women´s Club, medical clubs and many more. In these clubs you will find many
Americans and Europeans, which decided to move to Costa Rica.
Maybe the best way to make a nice friendship is the
participation at one of the weekly seminars for newcomers. These seminars are offered at
different places. They are not only a place to meet people, they also inform about new
laws, health, pensioners and more. Talk to Terry Ennis: phone 220-4988 and watch the ads
in Tico Times.
Costa Rica is also known as a place where
singles meet. Some single clubs offer trips and parties. Hotels support such events. You
can also find ads to meet someone in the newspapers. However, do not trust anyone and make
sure your future partner is not looking for money only.
