Oasis del Pacifico is NOT for everyone ! If you are looking for luxury and elegance, room service, tuxedoed waiters and crystal chandeliers - and don't care what it cost - we are definitely NOT for you.

However, the Oasis may be just what you are looking for if you want a comfortable room with a hammock right out in front of your door, home-cooked food and plenty of it, your own private beach, 12 acres of richly landscaped grounds with nature trails and horseback riding, two swimming pools, a chance to fish from our power launches or off the 260 foot pier that juts out into sea.

You won't need an alarm clock, since the howler monkeys in the surrounding jungle are in charge of waking our guests. Get up when you like and wander through the gardens to the patio restaurant for breakfast. Sample Lucky's biscuits and country gravy with your bacon and eggs or more typical Costa Rican dishes. Or perhaps a platter of fresh fruit if you're watching the diet. Our pet parrots and macaws may beg for scraps, and what they don't want our tame deer or squirrel and sometimes "too" friendly dogs will take care of.

The day is yours. Relax in hammocks with a good book, swinging from a shaded ramada next to the ocean. Lie in the sun. Go fishing. Swim. Ride or hike through a natural wilderness rich in exotic flora and wildlife. Maybe take a boat ride to explore the nearby islands. Go sailing or row around the sheltered bay that is often home in Costa Rica to yachts from throughout the world.

The Oasis del Pacifico is owned and operated by Lucky and Aggie Wilhelm who moved to Costa Rica in 1982. You won't find more friendly and gracious hosts anyplace in the world and they're always right there to give every guest their personal atention, answer questions or offer advice. Aggie is an accomplished chef and augments the regular restaurant menu of seafood and more traditional fare with some of the dishes of her native Singapore. Hardly a week passes without at least one evening around the "Steamboat" or Mongolian Hot Pot, a communal feast on the patio. There is moorage and accommodations for yachtsmen (Lat. 9º 56.4N, Long. 84º 57.9W; Radio frequency VHF 78A).

Prices are less than any similar beach resort in Costa Rica and with 36 rooms available, we can accommodate groups at special rates. And there's no beach resort that's faster or less expensive to get from San Jose. You can drive or take a public bus to Puntarenas in about two hours. There you board the ferry for a scenic hour cruise across the Gulf of Nicoya, and we will be waiting when you get off for the three minute drive to the resort. Just give us a call for reservations or bus and ferry schedules.

There's a special pool and playground for the kids and always someone around to keep an eye on them, so bring the whole family. At the Oasis, you can afford it.
