Costa Rica Internet Cafes and Email Offices

In Costa Rica, hundreds of internet cafes opened and you can even find one in the smaller towns. Many hotels offer email service to their clients. For example Hotel Valle del Sol near Ciudad Colon, which is a good place for the first nights in the country as well as a base for your stay.

Positive aspect: you stay "connected" (but should it not be a vacation?)

Negative aspect: Rates are very different and range between one and several $ an hour. It is worth to compare, if you have more than one location in the town you are in. Also connection speed can be bad and equipment is often very old. Many of the places are closed down just in the moment you need them most, especially in smaller towns outside central valley like La Fortuna.

In San Jose we recommend a place next to Hotel Costa Rica in the center of town. It is located at the bottom floor of some shops. Radiografica, the only service provider in Costa Rica (monopoly) also offers to use the internet in the office building.
