    This is a part of our extensive main project in English language, which informs about all subjects. Our large offer of information online shall be a good measurement for the quality of our school.
    ILISA is a medium size language school in a quiet part of San José. Our mission is, to offer you the nessesary abilities for your job progress or that you can enjoy travelling even more. To reach this goal, we offer several good developed but yet flexible programs.
    Found in 1987, ILISA has a team of qualified teachers with many years of experience being absolutely dedicated to their profession. During our 10 years existance we used that know-how to teach more than 2005 people from all parts of the world. ILISA will always offer, what suits the best, depending on your actual knowledge. 

Feel at home at ILISA
    Hi, I am JoAnn Lynen and responsible for the "Homestay Program" of ILISA, which we recommend, because you will enjoy the hospitality of a Costarican family during your stay. I can promise you that we choose them with biggest care. You can rely on a clean home with good meals. If you should have some wishes regarding to your host   family, please tell us. The "Homestay Program" offers the oportunity to cmpletely integrate into a Spanish speaking environment and share culture and tradition of Costa Rica with your family. 
    If a hotel or apartment would fit better to you (for example business men), we arrange the reservation, but you stay responsible for the payment. Please make reservation always on time, since accommodations are often booked out. ILISA's staff will arrange everything as soon as we have received your registration form and prepayment.

Programs, that fit your needs

• Group classes with a maximum of 4 people for a solid base in Spanish.
• Private classes for students with limited time or special language requirements.
• Profesional classes for teachers or business men.
• Online-classes for people, not being able to participate for different reasons.

Additional, our free cultural program offers much knowledge about Latin America.

New faces at ILISA
 

    In Juli, Damon Campolo from Iowa came to ILISA. He is our marketing director. He came to  Costa Rica knowing only a fee words in Spanish. He lived with an ILISA guest family, before he moved to his apartment and in the evenings, he takes Spanish classes. Damon has more than 5 years of marketing-experience. His goal is to increase company clients for ILISA as well as a good start in the new millenium.





    In August, ILISA hired two more people. The first was Felix Nicaragua, our   "messenger". Whenever it is possible, he helps with a smile. People often see him running in and out of the ILISA-building on his way to the bank or to the copy shop. Before, he worked in a different company in the same position.



    In mid August, Anna Davis startet with ILISA as an accountant. She comes from  Minnesota and has lived in Costa Rica before as an exchange student. Anna has experience in client service at Mesaba Airlines and market research at the "Wilson Learning Corporation". She replaces Jessica Simon, who wanted to return to the USA to make a master exam. We are pleased about our new employees.

At the 8th of June, ILISA celebrated the opening of its new Cafe. The restaurant offers "plato del dia" (daily meal) as well as sandwiches, different cakes and fresh fruit juices. Dinner is served to ILISA-students at special prices. We also started with weekly "Happy Hours". They are held every tuesday afternoon and give teachers, employees and students time to know each other and of course also try the products of the local brewery.

    Our new main office is ready now. Our students feel even better now in this professional surrounding, which gets much attention. However, not only the students enjoy the new place. Thorwald's office has a nice view to the mountains in the south  and Joann and Patrick love the tranquility of the new office, which allows concentrated working. ILISA continuous growing and becomes more and more perfect. Maybe the new building is a good sign for the success we had already.
 

Price list 2005 - all prices in US$

   Our English main pages contain the prices for children programs and our program for professionals. There, you also find detailed descriptions of all Spanish programs as well as details to our family and friends discount.

All classes include: Cultural program with 3 activities or lessons per week. Free welcome dinner all 4 weeks, free use of email, all texts and materials exept dictionaries, note pad, pencil and paper.
2 hours per week individual computer training (beginning January 2005)

Homestays includes: Breakfast and dinner, private or collective pick up from the airport and transport to host family, laundry service

ILISA's Program "friends and family"
    If you recommend friends to us or you want to learn with your family, we offer a 5 % discount on all Spanish classes, if you only bring one friend or family member. If you live together with the same host family, we also offer a discount on the homestay.
    If you come to us with 4 or more friends or family members, we offer 10 % discount on our programs and 5 % discount on Homestay. (Important: Can not be combined with another offer and registration directly at ILISA .)
