Terms of condition

1. Minimum Age: 16 years for individual students. Average age is 27. For groups travelling together the minimum age is 14.

2. Accommodation: Accommodation is usually arranged from Sunday before the course starts until Saturday after the course ends. Additional nights can be arranged on request. The price includes single room, halfboard, weekly laundry service and pick-up service at airport if family accommodation is booked
Important: The airport arrival time and flight number must be communicated to the school by no later than one week before the course starts. Otherwise we cannot guarantee pick-up at the airport! If the flight is late 2 hrs or more a taxi to the accommodation should be taken. Because of the way directions are given in Costa Rica, the student must give the taxi driver the family address as described in the family and apartment list for 2005, verbatum.

3. FREE Transfer from the airport to the host family, for students that choose homestay.

4. Students that choose apartments or clients who wish to stay in their self-arranged accommodation in San José can book the transfer in and out with the school for USD $ 22 one way.

5. Cancellation: Cancellations have to be made in writing, by fax or e-mail. If we receive a cancellation by no later than 8 days before the course is due to start, we shall reimburse the full amount minus bank charges if applicable, for both tuition and accommodation. Cancellations after this time: Academia Tica will charge the agent 10% on the total net price of tuition and accommodation originally booked. For group, hotel and guesthouse bookings, where different terms of condition apply and a deposit is usually requested, please check with the school management.

6. Late arrival and early departure: Students who arrive with a delay as well as students leaving the school and their accommodation before the official end of the program will not be refunded.

7. Certificate of attendance and corporate reports: All students are expected to attend classes regularly. At the end of the course they are entitled to the "Academia Tica Certificate" which shows course type, lessons per week, duration, level attained as well as progress made. For those executives sent by our corporate partners, Academia Tica will supply individual reports for their human resource department on request.

8. Payments: All invoices are due on the course starting date. Bank charges must be paid by the agent/representative.

9. Holiday Policy: Lost group tuition because of public bank holidays will not be
refunded or recovered. Lost private tuition due to public bank holidays will be recovered through additional teaching hours on other working days.
