COSTA RICA IMMIGRATION
Falkenstein S.A., San Jose, Costa Rica

Since when is the New Immigration Law effective and what is it about?
it is not effective yet as of Dec. 2005 and maybe will never be effective. All applications for permanent residency still can be filed directly in Costa Rica. The Costa Rica Tourist Board does not handle immigration application anymore!

Do I need an attorney in Costa Rica?
you do not need an attorney in Costa Rica to process your application, but you need a strong partner in Costa Rica with "Power of Attorney" to act on your behalf.

What does the Power of Attorney say?
it says that you grant special rights to a person acting on your behalf on your immigration matters.
COSTA RICA IMMIGRATION ("CRI") uses a specific power of attorney, valid exclusively for your immigration needs so we are allowed to deliver and receive your correspondence with the Immigration Department in Costa Rica. It is not valid for any other purpose.

Do I need to travel to Costa Rica to file my application for residency?
No, you do not need to be in Costa Rica. This is where
COSTA RICA IMMIGRATION comes handy. We can do everything for you that is needed. For example open a bank account, get a P.O. Box or apply for your phone line.

Do I have to personally go to the immigration office to file the application?
Not if you use the services of
COSTA RICA IMMIGRATION. As part of the services provided by CRI, we will file the application on your behalf.

How can you file the application on my behalf?
with your special power of attorney that allows us to act as your agent at a Costa Rican consulate. We will do all your paper work hastle free to get you approved for residency. We will even pay all immigration/application fees to the government. This will save you valuable time, travel expenses and headages dealing with the officials. We wait in line for you!

Why should I use CRI to help me with the application process?

CRI has 20 years of experience in immigration matters, knowledge of the Costa Rican law, and contacts to properly prepare your application and get you approved. We are familiar with the intricacies of the application process, the types of documents required by law, and will answer any concerns on the part of the officials reviewing your application.

All documents have to be translated into Spanish by a certified translator. CRI takes care of that requirement for you to make sure the translations are accurate and will be accepted by the consulate. An additional benefit of using our services is that you will be dealing with a Costa Rican company, but in English language.
Remember that a US based company can never provide the same service due to the fact that they have to apply in Costa Rica.

The job of COSTA RICA IMMIGRATION is to get your residency permit approved by the government of Costa Rica. Do not go through the trouble of applying by yourself. You would for sure regret not having used our service!
